Reuters: Moody's expects to affirm U.S. rating,... →
(Reuters) - The United States will likely keep its top-notch credit rating from Moody’s for now, despite the “limited magnitude” of the deficit reduction plans being discussed in Washington, the ratings agency said on Friday.
But Moody’s warned in a report that the confirmation of the Aaa credit will likely come with a negative outlook, meaning there is a risk of a...

Article text:
HOUSTON (AP) — A federal judge dismissed a lawsuit that sought to stop Gov. Rick Perry from sponsoring a national day of Christian prayer and fasting, ruling Thursday that the group of atheists and agnostics did not have legal standin g to sue.

substitutingreality asked: I just read your post on the 9/11 memorial. I'd have to disagree with you on the respect issue. lets put aside atheists though. Jews, Muslims(excluding the obvious terrorists), Buddhists, and many other people of different faiths also died and where hurt that day. Why should Christians be the only ones represented? Would you feel the same way if the found a star of David? Or a Crescent moon?...

Side note: The Tales from the Crypt series didn’t just use comics from the Tales from the Crypt comic collection, as it’s noted in the article. They also used Haunt of Fear, Vault of Horror, Crime...

Japanese Word of the Day: Bakku-shan
Perfectly demonstrated in the Family Guy episode “Hell Comes To Quahog”.

Bakku-shan The experience of seeing a woman who appears pretty from behind, but not from the front.
neonstargazers asked: First off: why would two pieces of metal wielded together at a perpendicular angle be hopeful and inspiring if it was not related to religion? What the hell would it mean? Why would it be inspiring to anyone? Did you even think that through?
Secondly: Why wouldn't all religions need to be represented? Are they just somehow less important than the Christians who died that day?

Thanks to all my followers, new and not-so-new....
neonstargazers asked: In regards to your latest post: the reason why Atheists are demanding that a cross not be put up is precisely because we are respectful of everyone's beliefs. Here's a little tidbit for you: people of all faiths died that day. Putting up a cross and no other religious symbols is a disservice to those who died who might have been Buddhists, Hindu, Jewish, Atheists, or any other religion....
